EP (extended play) originally applied to records, but carried over to CD's. An EP is a record that is too long to be a single and too short to be a full album.

 

A B-side is also carried over from records, it is the flip side of a single. The A side had the single (the one intended for the radio) on it, the B side was some other song to take up the other side of the vinyl.
