'Humorous' is the American spelling, 'humourous' is used by everyone else.

 

Just like every other word that follows that rule, like colour and armour.

Yammy has it right. Microsoft Word doesn't recognize "humourous" as correct because you have it set on the U.S. English mode.

 

On that note, I have Microsoft Word because it usually doesn't even recognize it when you've changed language modes, much less stay that way the next time you open it.
