There are also a large supply of oil in the "tar sands" north of edmonton in Alberta. Hopefully future technology will allow us to extract the oil from there. Supposedly the amount of oil present in that area is larger than the amount that was present in Saudi Arabia. There are also areas off the coast of the Queen Charlotte Islands in BC where we could drill for oil, but the green peace members and natives are against it.

There is lots of oil left, and hopefully we will be able to use it in the future.

but we should be looking for alternatives. they good thing about this oil scare is it makes people look for other ways.. we can't just use it up now and hope they have some other method in 400 years. economically it's damaging us, but we can deal with that.

environmnetally, we have to be more respondible now because we have done so much damage. every little bit helps.

There is already oil companies extracting from the oil sands (slumberger), but the production is slow.

The problem with drilling is not the equiptment, it's the drill shaft. When they drill an oil well there are strict environmental laws that do not permit leaking of oil into the substrate. It becomes necessary to drill a well is stages, dropping in sections steel before the next stage. The problem is the steal casings.

A well looks like
