Single Line Of An Mg Song That Just Stands Out

Recommended Posts

I'm tired of walking around with my hand on my gun

I'm tired of watching them wind you up to see if you'll run

Tonight I'm going to go out and have me some fun

I'm tired of walking around here with my hand on my gun

Haven't read all of them so I don't know if this ones taken

"Theres a Tv in Heaven

And its Free even Pay Per View

Its what you need if noones gonna visit you

Animals, fucking animals"

I think its "There's a TV in every room"

Not necessarily a line, but this is the verse for me.

You get a job

The job gets you

And somehow every day

You end up serving somebody else

If that ain't panic that you're feeling

Well you damn well better start

You can drive it into that head of yours

With that hammer in your heart

I really like certain parts of this intro but I just typed it all out because it's not whole w/out it.;)

Where do you call home? Is it underneath the sky that won't leave you alone. If only it was raining water and not not educated bombs, cause its some other mans business & some other mans wrongs. What do you call a friend? How come the best of them ain't people, by definition dogs instead. Like lustered lives of buying shit that won't cry when your dead...too far..too fast..too little...too late they say ain't it...

"baby, if i was in demand, you would be mine."

"i'm not myself, but somehow i'm still being him."

"i know who you're waiting for. no one is coming, though"

"baby i ain't dimed, but yeah, it still keeps me up at night."\

the way he says "bet yeah" in that last one gets me all blubbery every time.

Today I am in love with Mercy Misses You. It's not a line but the whole chorus of the thing that is getting to me.

if it can't be now

then how soon is when

hold on tight everyone

we're gonna do it again

not just a memory

that was the best part of me

so how long to miss me

how long to miss me

I'm just posting the whole song, it's one of the most romantic songs Matt's ever written:

Is there anything that I need to say

that hasn't been said before

I have been polite for too long

why should I be anymore

better now than never, better loud than clever

better just to play the fool

it's times like this

when you just close your eyes and kiss

cause everything after this

is just bullshit and being cruel

so hold me up, I'm going out

and don't wait up, I won't be coming home

if you lay me down in concrete fields

will I dream of grass and opera

this is the sound and how it feels

to be dead

In the end there will be fire and brimstone

and no one will be there to answer the telephone

you are the only one I'll miss

you are the only answer at a time like this

she is he trick of my trade

she is the thing that can't be made

she is gold and nothing less

and she is fearless

so hold me up, we're going out

and don't wait up, we won't be coming home

You hold it in your hand

you keep it in your heart

you hide it in your head

and you use it when you have to

she is the trick of my trade

these are the things that can't be made

stay yourself and nothing less

stay fearless

I have this posted on the wall in my office...It's just a great song.

Yeah, there are waaaaaaaaaaaaaay way too many, but one that immediately springs to mind is:

"You are an important part of the computer" from Near Fantastica.

It fits the mood of the song so brilliantly & he sings it with such emotion, but that's par or the course for Matt.

Here's a few:

"I will leave the car door open, as a symbol of my freedom

Like the riddles of a dead man; the living always need `em

In the end they'll say I'm crazy cuz I never gave a reason

He always talked about tomorrow as if he were always leavin."

"You know they'll probably say I was a happy man." I just love that one, because they always say that at funerals, and you have to wonder; how many people actually were happy?
