After Birds of Pray and Songs From Black Mountain, Live raises a question:

 

How many love songs can be written?

I gave this album one listen, and i think that'll be it. I'd prefer to enjoy one of there first three albums.

I saw Live...well...live back in January and they played mostly songs off of that album. I thought it was lame. But then again, the whole performance by them was old and stale. "Throwing Copper" was pretty good. I have it on CD. But I won't bother with this new cd.

Secret Samadhi was the only live cd i ever bought wasn't bad! ;)

Secret Samadhi was a very obscure release from the band which turned out to be a failure thanks to the massive hits off Throwing Copper. If you want to check out something out of the ordinary, listen to Live's first album: Mental Jewelry. Might even be my favourite Live album.

 

Birds Of Pray was a good rock album, though easily the worst out of the six. BUT NOW, SONGS FROM THE BLACK MOUNTAIN, my God, what a faceless, soft, adult contemporary album. Listening to the first 10 seconds of the first single, The River, really sums up the album. A sad ending to a very good band.
