We technically didn't have prom persay....We had the ceremony in the arena next door, then we had the family thing which was like a reception, and then we had a video dance, and then we borded buses to Little River Ferry Terminal and borded the ferry and road up and down Georgia Strait for 4hrs...I was feeling woozy so I just sat with my friend in the seats.

Thats quite possibly the worst prom/graduation party ever.

I didn't go to prom, but that's cuz I'm a loser.

But i did hit up my grad party. It's a small town thing called a "safe" grad. Basically it's after the ceremonies in a dry curling rink (I'm serious) and it's safe because parents are there to watch thier kids get smashed (even the underage ones). They make sure no one drinks and drives and no one is able to leave the building until they call you ride and escort you to the vehicle. I almost got in a fight on the dance floor. Some chick was being dragged onto the floor by this random dude and she looked at me and said help. So being drunk and brave I grabbed her arm and yanked her wtih me to tha dance floor. We grinded all night.

Everyone always complains about prom and talks about how they didn't go. I had a delightful time at mine, and Meg, I'd reccomend going. The amount of enjoyment you get out of it is entirely up to you. If you make it fun, it'll be fun.

Plus, afterparties are always amazing.

i had a way better time at my after-commencement party.

proms are stringent now days... like we had cops check us before we entered the banquet hall. People who were drunk weren't allowed in.

My school's prom is June 19th and I am semi-looking forward to it. I wasn't going to go until I found out this girl I fancied would go with me. So she has a 500 dollar dress, I have a rented 211 dollar Hilfiger suit and now I have become everything that I had once hated.

mine was fun because every picture my mum took i frowned in and everyone elses i was smiling. on purpose.

we also rented a REALLY old bentley limo, and got into a car accident on the way to the aftergrad party. the driver fucking lost it and came as close to crying as you could without actually shedding a tear. i think i have a picture somewhere.

I am, apparently, going to prom, on the benevolence of another guy at my table being unable to get a date. After I already turned down a girl who asked me to prom, who will be sitting at that table. It's funny because nobody else has a fucking clue what happened.

I'm really split. I fucking hate dance music and associated activities. The last time I went to a similar event (a few weeks ago), the night was a brilliant catastrophe on every possible level. I'm a very paranoid and anxious guy. I spent the entire night sitting at my table, clutching a glass of water, while everyone else had fun. I sat around until I decided that going home wasn't worse than sitting around.

Everyone keeps telling me that the after-parties are where it's at, what with the getting drunk and all. The problem is that not only am I paranoid and afraid to have my parents see me hungover the next day, I'm also a control freak. I have no clue what would happen if I got drunk. That scares me.

So basically, I'm going because I bought my ticket. I figure I'll duck out after dinner and go to a bar or something, and take in some good music. Or at least do something mildly original. I guess. Take advantage of the fact I'll be wearing a suit.

On a side note, I can't fucking stand these 16 year old girls running around who have their proms planned down to a T. Those people need better things to think about. I also hate them because they think "It's prom!" and "Because!" are good enough reasons to engage in the giant clusterfuck of pointless consumption and stupidity that prom is.
