I know exactly how you feel. I have a band related tattoo (soon to be more) and the meaning is so much more than just the band. It's so annoying to have to either say its a band tattoo and get the lame looks or explain the meaning and lay out your life philosophy...

i have all the cliche tattoos. a butterfly, a chinese symbol, astrological tattoo, and something in script. if i really wanted to be a walking cliche, i would also get a sparrow, some flames, nautical stars, and a naked lady. but i'm content with only being a partial cliche for now.

i wanted an angel on one shoulder and a devil on the other because of weapon. i'm sure there's plenty of people with angels and devils tattooed on their shoulders, though. now, i'd like an angel and a devil grappling in kind of a yin yang shape. still...it always comes down to tattoo vs. new guitar/gear.
