I absolutely adore Great Big Sea. It's just a nice change of pace to listen to, with all the garbage that's out there.

 

There's something about those old Newfie songs, that just transport you to another time and place. The songs are simple and sincere and the melodies are sweet. Even their original stuff is just so simply...nice.

 

Everytime they come to Vancouver, I'm there. Except this summer when they play the Malkin Bowl =_=

i hate em. stereotypical east coast bullshit. but i'll admit that with a head full of alcomahol, it's hard not to tap your damn foot to that "see chameleon, lying there in the sun" shit. it's like that barret's (sp?) privateers song.
