So I Was Listening To Audio Of Being At Work...

Recommended Posts

Fuck, I forgot how amazing that album is. If you're wondering, I usually only listen to my CD's at work and I mostly just bring the singles disc from in a coma so I don't get to listen to the other stuff (except on the computer but that's always on random)

On a side note... something has bugged me about In A Coma since it came out... "It's been awhile since I was your man" "Carmelina" and "Anti-pop" all aren't on there... why? at first I thought maybe he didn't like those songs... but then once I realized that "Rico" was on it I was confused again. so riddle me this... whats up with that?

He's often said that he thinks that album turned out to be a disaster (although I am sure many of us disagree) and hasnt listened to it since it came out, so I am sure its because he just didnt want to put them on. Plus he might feel compelled to play Carmelina and Anti-pop live if he put on his greatests hits and then toured it.

Ah...good ol' Audio of Being.

At the time I bought the album, I listened to it nonstop, and there was so much stuff was going on in my life. Now everytime I listen to it, it just floods my head with nostalgic nonsense, lol. But still, it has some memorable tracks on it. And I've always found it ironic that 'Antipop' is the 'poppiest' song on the album.

Wow. Hmm... I don't even remember much about when I bought it, I think it was when I got several of his albums at once. It's good, a bit too moody and maybe over-produced. There are some amazing songs though. I did listen to it today, and then Avalanche right after. There's something about the contrast between the two, like the calm after a storm.

Funny enough about you saying it induced an anxiety attack, because I must say most of my memories associated with the album are ones of loss and regret and all that other cliche-ish stuff. But it's true. What can I say, MG(B) has follwed me every step of the way, through lots of meaningful shit, and Audio of BEing came at a most unhappy time.

Funny how people respond to some things.

But now being so distanced from all the events of years past, I actually enjoy listening to the album to revisit the feeling now and again.

i have never listened to two matt good albums consecutively. that would be interesting.

I do all the time, depends on what I feel like. I stuck them all on 1 big mp3 cd cuz I'm too poor to own an iPod and sometimes I just stick it on random, and listen to MG goodness for hours...

I find that after I listen to him for a while, I get sidetracked by the melodrama in his songs, and eventually that's all i can concentrate on. Not as a insult to him or anything, but it is sometimes too melodramatic.

I hate it when that happens.

I actually had just got Avalanche and my dad had a heart attack...so I listened to the last half of it sitting in the hospital emergency room.

I really like Audio Of Being but I think it might be the album it took me the longest to grow to love. It sounds like a band that doesn't want to be together. I usually wind up listening to it in teh middle of the night for some reason.

That's funny, cuz AoB was the easiet for me to end up liking, except for maybe Underdogs, which was the first one I got. Underdogs, however, seems like it's a little 'shallower', and I like AoB a LOT more.

I really didn't like AOB when I first listened to it. Then a couple of months past and I decided it was time to give the album a chance, so I sat down and just kept listening to it and now I love it. Probably my favorite MG(B) cd.

I have always loved AoB. It was my first Matt Good album of my own. I used to just listen to my sisters copies of Underdogs and Beautiful Midnight.

AoB is beautiful. When I listen to Sort of a Protest Song it just sends chills through me. I listen to AoB all the time. That and Avalanche. Both are beautiful works of art.

Avalanche is my number 2 favourite album and AoB is my 2 1/2 favourite album of all time. That speaks a lot.
