Yeah, I have to say I definitely like her better in Metric. But I do think it's great she can show she's talented in more varities of music.

same. i find her messages get lost behind forgettable drum beats and guitars when she's with metric. musically, i dont like them much, but i've always liked her singing.

 

i really like the album. it is at a much slower pace but the music is more suited for the subject matter.

i think the album is gorgeous, but she isn't that great of a pianist, it's a lot of very simple stuff, and a lot of starts to sound redundant after awhile.

 

"reading in bed" and "our hell" are fucking gorgeous though.

This is sort of an old topic, but holy shit, I LOVE THIS CD. Pretty much every song is great. Ironically, Our Hell (and Winning) is pretty much the only one I'm not really into. Fucking amazing. I've been listening to it non stop for about 4 or 5 days.

I've got to be in the right mood to listen to it. I like it. But in general, I'd rather listen to Metric.

Not only do I despise Emily Haines & the Soft Skeleton, I despise Metric as well. I find it all absolutely terrible.
