Hey I just watched this movie in class today. I thought it was pretty good in explaining the horrors of drugs. In some parts it was pretty sad, and some parts pretty disgusting. Anyone else see this movie?

that is one of the few movies i will openly weep in front of a female while i watch it.

It wasn't really sad but more so very disturbing. After watching this movie I knew I would never try heroin or any shit like that.

Ive said in another post somewhere that I really disliked this movie and thought it was overhyped....but, most people disagree. I just thought it was kind of silly.

Requiem for a Dream contains the best performance by an actress (Sara Goldfarb) I've ever seen in a movie

Yes, Ellen Burstyn gives a fantastic performance in this movie.

Yeah, I love this movie a very lot but it's definitely one that I can only watch once every few years (I've only actually seen it two, maybe three times and one of those was in the theatre when it opened); it's just too much to take in and deal with emotionally and definitely not one that I could watch repeatedly with little gaps between viewings.

 

That might (for me, anyway) somehow diminish the experience and the effect if I do see it multiple times. I have similar feelings with regards to Life Is Beautiful; I absolutely love it through and through, makes me cry every single time but again, I've only seen it two or three times, including in the theatre. However, I am feeling ready to see it again soon...

 

Anyway, bring on The Fountain! Hopefully that one will also be viewed in school one day too ;)

I was thinking about it, and although I like Jared Leto's (Harry Goldfarb) acting in this movie, I haven't been won over by anything he's done since.

 

The only ones I tend to enjoy in other films are Connelly and Burstyn.
