further amendment: i have to add brand new to my list. i don't think there's anything else coming out this year worthing checking out, so my final list is looking like:

 

incubus: light grenades

stone sour: come what(ever) may

brand new: the devil and god are raging inside me

emily haines: knives don't have your back

elvis costello & allen toussaint: the river in reverse

 

it was looking like '06 would suck until lately.
