My vote goes to Gerard Kennedy. His track record is good (though short), and he should appeal to NDP voters as well because of his position on the left wing of the party. I would probably vote the liberals in the next election if any of these candidates were the leader, with the exception of Joe Volpe (who doesn't stand a chance anyway)and Bob Rae. His presence as a top candidate angers me, seeing as everything he does goes to shit. The two things listed on the top of his resume, Ontario Premier and Air India Inquiry Commisioner. How'd those go for him? I'd rather suffer under Harper than have Bob Rae drive the economy into the ground and proably the liberal party with it.

I was a member well before the deadline so I voted in the super weekend. I am a bit disappointed that the party will continue on with the delegate system, it's great for the first vote, but what about after that? Everyone's up for grabs, it's not really fair since we only get to decide on the first vote and if anyone's already over fifty percent support than the whole party can decide who is the next leader, but if not then it's up to a select few.

i just have a thing for political people who switch parties. I know people can and are allowed to switch their political thoughts. But when it comes to the grander scale, did they switch parties because their views have changed, or they just want elected.

well pretty much everyone except Ignatieff is non-right wing, and well, Ignatieff is pretty right. And the liberals are the center left party of Canada, so i dont think he will win. What has surpised me is that, SuperCunack didnt comment, this is right up erik's alley.

Michael Ignatieff is part of Harvard's plan to take over the world.

You heard it from me first.

exactly. I dislike these power-hungry types.

And Scott Brison is certainly one of these. I remember him running for the PC leadership around 2001-2002? back when Peter Mackay won. Brison obviously lost, and then shortly after when i turn on the TV he's sitting as a Liberal in the House of Commons.

Same with Belinda Stronach.

I can see people seeing some ideas differently, but how do you go from being running for leadership of a major conservative party to sitting as or running for leadership of a very liberal party (which the Libs are, in many ways lean socialist).

Its B.S., all these people want is power. Both Belinda & Brison & these types are douchebags. God i hate politicians.

Scott Brison is an openly gay politician, he did not believe merging the Alliance and the PCs together was a good idea either. He made the switch because he believed he would become the "gay poster boy" of the party and he preferred to be view on his merits as a politician rather than his sexual orientation, plus he wanted to be in a party that closer reflected his moral views, the new Conservatives did not do this. So, the week they merged, Brison switched.

Poor Peter McKay.  Can't catch a break no matter how hard he tries.

I guess with his comment's toward's women he's got some making up to do with the women folk. ;)

i dont think it was really towards all women, i think it was a well timed insult on belinda, which i enjoyed.

i forgot Brison was gay, thank you for pointing out what you did. I guess if i was him i would leave the Conservatives ASAP too.

That doesn't mean i still don't think he's a power-hungry poop face though ;) . But that goes for 80% of all politicians anwyays.

At this very moment i dislike a lot of things about all of Canada's parties, so i'd be in a thunderfuck if there was an election right now.

I still despise & distrust the Liberals for their past corruption & they'll have to prove me otherwise. They still seem more about power & winning than personal beliefs moreso than any of the other parties. Which is a shame because i fall closest to the Liberals on the poltical spectrum.

"Stick to your knitting", a comment made to MP and former leader of the NDP, Alexa McDonough, during a radio debate McKay has twice made comments about women. So i can use the plural sense
