my friends drove me home from sudbury once (4 hour drive) and during that time, they played me "sam's town" as well as two dane cook live albums. needless to say, i almost didn't make it.

as soundless space mentionned, nothing stands out on the killers album. it's all so glossy and pretty, but has very little substance to it. and that whole fucking "welcome to sam's town we hope you enjoy your stay" bullshit is so ridiculous.... trying to pass their garbage off as though it has some sort of unifying concept throughout... right. i've heard people say that bands like tool or the mars volta are pretentious, but when compared to this, it's a complete misnomer.

i found it hard to like it the first time I heard it, but I must admit that after some listenings, I really like the album, not all the songs, but I have my favorite ones: "for reasons unknown", "bling" and "uncle jonny" are my favorite ones (in that order)

It's alright. It's pretty average compared to the first album, I don't like any track as much as my favs on Hot Fuss, although I like all of the tracks more than my least favs from Hot Fuss.

It took them long enough to release a second album, I was expecting so much better. It doesn't deserve nearly as much hype as it's getting. I enjoy the album, but it's definitely over-rated.

The Killers are horrid.

I really do like them... songs like this one are pretty good

The Killers - For Reasons Unknown

I pack my case, I check my face

I look a little bit older

I look a little bit colder

With one deep breath, and one big step

I move a little bit closer, I move a little bit closer

For reasons unknown..

I caught my stride, I flew and flied

I know if destiny's kind, I've got the rest on my mind

Well my heart, it don't beat, it don't beat the way it used to

And my eyes, they don't see you no more

And my lips, they don't kiss, they don't kiss the way they used to

And my eyes don't recognize you no more

For reasons unknown

For reasons unknown

It was an open chair

We sat down in, the open chair

I said if destiny's kind, I've got the rest on my mind

But my heart, it don't beat, it don't beat the way it used to

And my eyes, they don't see you no more

And my lips, they don't kiss, they don't kiss the way they used to

And my eyes don't recognize you at all

For reasons unknown

For reasons unknown

I said my heart, it don't beat, it don't beat the way it used to

And my eyes, don't recognize you no more

And my lips, they don't kiss, they don't kiss the way they used to

And my eyes don't recognize you no more

For reasons unknown

For reasons unknown

For reasons unknown

For reasons unknown

For Reasons Unknown is probably the best song on the album. the rest are either merely okay or quite forgettable. Sam's Town is not much of a sophomore effort, and it just goes to show that letting your ego run rampant on a CD usually doesn't pay off.

alas, it's too bad the label's decided to cram garbage like Bones or Read My Mind down our throats. (with shit videos too, i might add-- enough with the scruffy cowboy crap; it was cool with Depeche Mode in 1990, it's not cool anymore!)
