Studio Demos

Which of Matt's newer demos have been recorded semiprofessionally, and not just bootlegged? I know "Big City Life", "Black Helicopter", and "I Am Not Safer Than a Bank" were (as well as the demos with Ryan), but what about "Breath of a Nation", "She's In It for the Money", "When Hollywood Runs Out of Indians", "The Boy Come Home", "If I Was a Tidal Wave" and "Metal Airplanes"? Since I need to accumulate posts to download the demos (and the hub seems to be down) I'd rather download the studio demos first.

 

In retrospect, I'm not even 100% confident "Big City Life" was recorded semiprofessionaly before it was released...

If I Was A Tidal Wave is a demo Matt put on his Myspace, it's not a bootleg. All the others you mentioned are from live shows. And Big City Life was relesed on In A Coma.

Alright, thanks, but what about the earlier (demo) version of "Big City Life" available in the store here?

 

Edit: Was it called "If I Was a Tidal Wave" when Matt posted it, or "I Wish I Was a Tidal Wave"?

Matt called it "If I was a Tidal Wave", so that's a typo in the store :angry:

 

Black Helicopter was also recorded on Matt's computer as a demo, though a lot of us consider it to be a completed song that needs no further work ;)

Yea, it's a great song. I love "I Am Note Safer Than a Bank" too, despite its length. I'm not as fond of "If I Was a Tidal Wave".

Look through the posts. It's not in the store because it's not a full track. I also suspect that there's an added layer of talking to muffle out the real song.

I doubt it'll make the cut, and I'm not sure if we can really hold it as any indication of what the album will sound like.

ok I just started listenin to "Im Not Safer Than A Bank" and ive got the bug again to hear some new stuff.. this new album is gonna be sooo good. I cant wait for more demos. I do wish this song was longer though reminds me of 21 century living. I just wanted to get that out.
