Shade's Album Upload Topic

Challenge: if any of you have/are capable of finding and uploading music by Taco (guy from the 80's that did "Puttin' on the Ritz"/"Livin' in my Dream World"... I have that single on vinyl, but have had no luck with mp3s), I would be forever grateful.

Ya, I'm gone for the weekend or so...

try this out.

Psychic Ills - Dins

This band is like Sonic Youth with an Eastern influence...I like it....easy to get into as well.

Download.

okay. love the music. hate the vocals. if they ditched the vocals entirely, found a strong vocalist and gave him some cool lyrics, or replaced the vocal parts with a solo guitar/other instrument, i could get into them.

White Noise - An Electric Storm

Album from the 60's...way ahead of its time...weirdo music...the stuff 13chris cries about.

It's fun.

Download.

Wow, weird. I'm assuming the second track "My Game of Loving" is supposed to have all the skips in it?

edit: if you do end up suggesting something to James, chances are I'll like it, too. ;)

I challenge you to suggest an album that I will enjoy.

My first thought to suggest is:

Sonic Youth - Murray Street

radical adults lick godhead style = the track to end all tracks

Download.

Being the big indie buff that you are...I assume you know "Tv on the radio" ...they kind of blow in my opinion...but seems like the kind of band you would like.

and soundless...Teh Fuck...there are suppose to be blips ..but not that many...delete that shit...I'll have to re-upload sometime. Fuck Myself.

This one needs a bit of an introduction...to make it easy I'll copy excerpts from wikipedia...I highly suggest reading:

"Metal Machine Music is generally considered to be either a joke, a begrudging fulfillment of a contractual obligation, or an early example of noise music. Reed has since contradicted popular sentiment, stating that "I was serious about it. I was also really, really stoned"

"Reed was following the work of artists like Albert Ayler and Ornette Coleman in Free jazz, composer Lamonte Young and fellow ex-Velvet Underground member John Cale."

"David Bowie referenced the album in his article for Rolling Stone listing Nine Inch Nails as one of music's "Immortals": "The music is a birthday surprise for Lou. Trent Reznor remixed this version of Metal Machine Music as a present." "

"On their 1985 album Bad Moon Rising, Sonic Youth used samples from it in the songs "Brave Men Run (In My Family)" and "Society Is A Hole." Metal Machine Music was highly influential on Sonic Youth member Lee Ranaldo's solo endeavors, particularly his 1987 album From Here To Infinity, composed entirely of tape loops, feedback, and lock grooves"
