it's interesting that you feel that way. i kinda feel like they never really did a good job of ripping off the bands they were trying to rip off... but that's just me!

I never really liked No Doubt so I can't speak about them. And yeah, I agree that Bush were never original or invented anything new but they had good songs. But it's okay, we can agree to disagree

There wasn't a single original thing about Bush...but they could put it all together real good, and rock out. They never pretended to be anything else. Shiri have you ever heard their cover of REM's "The One I Love"?

 

As for No Doubt...I can feel the suckiness just start to pour whenever the name is even spoken. I just hope she doesn't make Gavin suck by association.

 

Does anyone know the release date for the Silverchair?

I think it was March 31st.

 

Yeah, I know the cover, it's pretty sweet. And I'm afraid she already has (see Institute). Though Bush's last album wasn't all that great as well.

I didn't care for that last Album either.

The silverchair album is an Australian only release for the moment...North America will get it in July apparently (according to wikipedia).

It does, but I think it's because they don't have an international recor d company...in Australia, they're with Eleven which also release Live From Faraway Stable (Live DVD) but only over there...

i don't know. i'd have to say this new silverchair record is pretty mediocre. it's got some really good songs, and some really weak songs. kinda how i felt about diorama.

 

i do like straight lines a lot though, and waiting all day - after numerous listens, those two both went from being least favourites to favourites.

I'm revising my backing of that comment because, if the record company has two sparks of wits, they'll release the album with additionnal tracks or something in North America...no one's going to make me believe that they actually think fans didn't just download it since it was available. They'll want to sell, so they'll give us more candy.

 

Also, suprisingly, the thing's growing on me...I realize I'm humming songs from the album sometimes and give it a listen. I may like it with time.
