i think they sucked live. they're much better on cd. i would blame the acoustics, but isis sounded as they should've. out of the four times i've seen isis, that was the best show they've done.

As for the sigur ros comment. I can see what you are saying...but pretty much all post-rock (or post-rock influenced) stuff has pretty much the same sound.

build-up for 5-20 minutes ...then Climax.

i wish i could have gone to that show. the new jesu record is greatness.

how was zozobra? i love those guys too.

My girlfriend and I were pretty constrained on time, so I was terrified we wouldn't make it in time for Zozobra. We walked in and they were already onstage, and Caleb Scofield was saying, "Thanks. We're Zozobra...." So I was thinking we'd missed most of their set.

Anyrate, they went into Soon to Follow, which made me damned fucking happy. They went on to play The Blessing, Levitate, Kill & Crush and Caldera (Which was incredible) - I think they might've played Invisible Wolves too, but I can't completely recall. So I guess we missed, maybe, a song or two. But yeah, they did a great job. They definitely have a more raw live sound. Some of the vocal harmonies on the album seemed a bit too clean, so it was nice to hear a bit more roughshod vocalizing from the other guys in the band. Plus, the guitars were a bit higher in the mix.

So yeah, they pretty much kicked ass.

Alright, after listening through their discography a few times...I enjoy Jesu quite a bit.

They don't stack up to some older shoegazing bands but they bring some cool stuff to the table.

Too bad the price of cds are shit though, I would pick up conqueror.
