I downloaded it the other day, but have yet to listen to it. What's the big deal over Bright Eyes anyway? I never thought it was that special. But maybe this one will blow me away?

I didn't like Bright Eyes at first. His voice annoyed me and the sound quality was distracting. But after some time, I gave him another chance and started to really like him. He writes great lyrics in my opinion, some will call it Emo but I don't care.

 

I listened to the new album about one and a half time, didn't really leave an impression on me. I need to listen to it more.

yup exactly. it took me some time to get over the rough music and his voice to appriacte the lyrics but they are most impressive. very orginal, deep, introspective, but at the same time catchy.

 

I am as of yet unimpressed with this cd. some of the lyrics are nice but the music sounds like xpn stuff,bland... his older stuff was similar but had a more edgier rock feel, just sounds better.
