Their first album imo is their best. its got a raw grungy garage sound and the music is heavy and it jams. the lyrics are powerful as well because of what dave went through with kurt. nothing fancy or dressed up...just rock and roll that rocks. its their only album i can listen to from start to finish without wanting to skip over tracks.

I just got it yesterday as well. Listening to it right now actually and it sounds pretty good, not anything earth-shattering or very different but I think it has potential to be better than In Your Honor which I didn't really like.

i'm always amazed that people didn't like in your honor. i love it. and i'm not expecting earth shattering from the new one, as i saw grohl say somewhere (on wiki, maybe) that he wanted to preserve the 'foo fighters sound'.

I listened to it last night. It's fine. They just seem to have plateaued to me, not bad but not growing or progressing. I hope they snap out of it, like Green Day.
