Symbolistic White Walls (1995)
Symbolistic White Walls was Matthew Good Band’s second music video off of Last Of The Ghetto Astronauts, directed by Samir Rehem and released in 1995. It alternates between the band performing in a stark white studio and fragmented vignettes that mirror the song’s themes of isolation and emotional barricades.
In the performance scenes, Matthew Good and his bandmates play against walls daubed with black, abstract graffiti. Quick cuts shift to Matthew alone in empty hallways, under harsh fluorescent lights, and to a lone woman moving through a vacant apartment.
