A Song I Wrote

Recommended Posts

I recorded and uploaded this song to soundcloud a few days ago. Not the greatest quality ever, but it's not unbearable.

Any feedback is welcome and appreciated. I will hopefully be doing more songs, but first I need a new mic. The one I have now is just a mic from RockBand2, so getting a new one I think will bump the quality up a fair bit. Other things I used include :

Yamaha APX 500 Acoustic Guitar

Rocksmith Guitar Patch Cord/USB Cable

Mixcraft 5

Hope you enjoyed it, and if you didn't, you are entitled to your own tastes and I take no offence to that.

Thank you.

~Jess

Lyrics:

(Verse 1)

I have walked upon this shore before

I know its sands so well

The oceans tide in sunsets light

Bids me farewell

(Verse 2)

The parking lot atop the hill

Is paved with broken dreams

And memories that once were sweet

Now bitter seem

(Chorus)

And as night turns to day

I remain to stay the same

And if light fades away

Then there is nothing left to blame

(Verse 3)

Its been four years since I was home

The times have seemed to change

Familiar scenes from my hometown

Have left this mountain range

(Verse 4)

The starry sky above the clouds

Has lost most of its glow

And if it never shines half as bright

Thats all I need to know

(Chorus)

That as night turns to day

I'll remain to stay the same

And if light fades away

Then there is nothing left to blame

(Verse 5)

I have walked upon this shore before

I know its sands so well

The sky it fades a darker red

Becomes a make-shift Hell
