Who has checked out the latest Dinosaur Jr. album "Beyond"? This is their first album in 10 years. If you aren't familiar with them, they were one of the pioneer alternative rock bands much like The Pixies who peaked in the late 80s/early 90s with their sound & popularity.

 

What makes this album special is that this is the first time since 1988 that the original band members have re-united and it really shows on the cd. Dinosaur Jr. have a very rich sound for an indie rock band as their guitars are the main focus in the music. They also aren't afraid to do lengthy guitar solos (pretty much unheard of in indie rock) and I think that is pretty cool.

 

If you want a really rocking album that is true to what alternative music is, better give it a listen.
