EP definition

 

EP= extended play; too long for a single but not long enough to be an LP.

Comes from the days of vinyl records: EP's were 7" records, either 45rpm or 33rpm.

 

LP= long playing; regular

In records: LP's were 12", 33 rpm.

 

Singles: 7", 45rpm

EP = usually a waste of time and money except for rare exceptions. Because it used to be an art, and a rarity, now it seems like people are coming out with EPS every fecking month.
