I play basically everything and im in a few bands. My suggestion is first finding people who can actually play and you can get along with, then second is to have fun. Do a show and do the A&W root beer song and follow it up with the juicy fruit song. Just as long as you have a blast.

Ive been playing guitar for three years too. I'm in a couple of 'bands'. They are 'bands' and not bands because all of them are non-performing, and we rarely get together to jam or whatever. More like a loose association of musicians who play together when possible.

That said, THE MAN has the best advice:

"My suggestion is first finding people who can actually play and you can get along with, then second is to have fun.

Thats all you need right there.
