Quebec A "nation Within Canada"

Recommended Posts

The whole idea of seperation has kind have died in B.C., it was much stronger five years ago, but even then it was never truly seen as realistic, more of an idea. You have to remember that about five years ago we had an entirely different government at that. One where our economy was in shambles after only ten years of them in power. Now we're one of the leading provinces in the country under the BC Liberals. They have been working towards creating that smoking ban that the BC NDP messed up until it was abandoned. They are working towards the elimination of fatty foods in public building vending machines, and as of January every child born from there on will receive $1000 towards their post-secondary education to be used when they're old enough. The times have changed drastically for BC so while there are still problems, we have worked through quite a few already along with the help of the federal government on several of them.

Back on to Quebec seperatism, I remember at the last referendum one of the questions that was put up was what land Quebec would be able to keep. It was suggested that they would only be entitled to what they initially had when they joined confederation, but I never heard any further information on this.
