Anyone Own A Ford Ranger?

Recommended Posts

I want to put some subs in my 95 shortbox ranger, but i don't know how well she's gonna work. Space is limited. I'm looking at 2 10" rockfords. The amp is also a rockford. If anyone's got something set up i'd like to hear how it worked out for them. Even if you got a different kind of small truck.

Get one of these http://www.thetrue22.com/ ;) (369 pounds!!!!!!!!!)

Now I should be able to seriously help you on this considering I did 6 months of work experience at futureshop doing audio install, but sadly, I can't

If you are really pressed for space though I would recommend some bazooka tubes, even though they don't offer the greatest sound quality.

.....ya, i'm poor though. and i got credit at best buy. so there isn't much to choose from.

rockford used to be good. they suck now. ever since their plant moved from orgeon to china... suprise suprise... quality dropped.

since you own a truck, space IS limited. your best bet would be to *find someone who wants your bestbuy credit and to sell it to them. then take that money, go to a car stereo shop and buy the pioneer premier TS-SW124D sub, or the kaption flat-10. the pioneer is 4" deep and the kaption is 3.8" so they're perfect for a truck.. and suprisingly they put out unreal bass. mount it in a truck (shallow) sub-box and BAM... or should i say BOOM.

my ex had a dodge dakota with NO space and for her birthday got her the TS-SW124D paired with a MRDM1001 amp from apline. of course the bigger the amp the better but they had that sub paired up with some 240W clarion when i demoed it at the shop and it sounded great. the kaption seems like its a better sub, but being that i'm from vancouver, they're hard to find as kaption is just recently expanding from ontario (that and the kaption sub lists at $350)

*the reason why i say sell the the best buy credit is because im pretty sure they dont carry pioneer premier, as that line is usually saved for independant retailers. also, ask some local car stereo shops if they'll accept the best buy credit as payment, if they're a decent shop they will because they love nothing more than stealing business from the big box stores (and in turn they can use that credit for store stuff like office supplies or demo discs, etc.). my buddy had a couple hundred dollars in a&b sound credits and AVU in Vancouver took it as payment.

Haha... Ford...

hey man, ford 4 bangers KICKASS.

...excluding the 2.3L 'stangs of the early late 80s early 90s, the ever popular taurus, early model explorers, escorts, etc... right?

No laughing at Ford Rangers... My best friend has one with 380,000Km. Original 3.0l still in it, not rebuilt.

For the stereo, I'm assuming shortbox=smallcab. His truck has the back seats, he's crammed a 10" under one of them. It's ok, he likes it - not into that loud of stuff.

Four bangers are good for now. Gas $$$ aren't too bad now, and my truck consumes little gas. Someday i will own nice things, but not this day. taurus' suck tho for sure. i'd call it ugly, but i had a 94 sundance too, and it was sweet...haha. i miss that car.
