it's growing on me. i wish you could actually hear cat power's contribution on "orphans" though. i think i like the title track and "youthless" the most so far. "gamma ray" is also good, but there's nothing really to it.

 

the album sounds boring because of danger mouse's shitty production.

 

i kinda miss the old beck.

i don't know where sea change would rank in my opinion. i love it, because the songs are great, even just as a beck album it stands out vastly from the rest, and if anyone is going to emulate nick drake and john martyn and do it well, it's going to be him. but i prefer beck when he's being irreverent and stupid. right now midnite vultures and one foot in the grave are my favourites, but it's hard to pinpoint because i'm always changing my mind.

Yeah, it's too hard for me to choose just one album as my favourite, it chages with me like the weather.

 

I listened to Sea Change for about a month straight not long ago and swore it was his best the whole time but lately i've been all over Odelay and Guero.

The new album is not at all boring, I think it's got some great work. I love Orphans, and everything through to Volcano is pretty awesome.

 

But I would say my favourite from Beck thus far is Sea Change, notably the song "Lost Cause".

 

I think I shall listen to it once I'm done listening to Avalanche.
