I had to get tested for different masks because sometimes I have to go to the ER to help with procedures and you never know what they have.

i'm surprised you weren't fitted for one already. at the hospital i worked at, it was part of my orientation.

i read an interesting article today about the vaccines. it was an opinion piece about how they've totally failed their job already. in the time that it'll take to roll the vaccine out to everyone else who isn't in a risk group, you will more than likely have been exposed to the virus, and either got sick and developed an immunity to it, or developed an immunity to it right off the bat. i'm neither pro, nor against vaccination in general, but i've always shied away from the yearly flu vaccines, and this argument is definitely a compelling enough one to make me think twice about getting vaccinated. although health canada might've already grouped swine flu in with regular flu, the mass hysteria surrounding the sickness hasn't stopped them from puncturing every arm they can get their mitts on. hell, they paid for the stuff already, no refunds on vaccines apparently, so wh not vaccinate everyone anyway, just to be sure?

I'm fully content in waiting for my vaccine for a long while yet, I'm in no rush.

Yessir. The only thing that is slightly worrying to me is that the are claiming that death in healthy young adults is usually the result of a cytokine storm, an immune system over-reaction. While no doctor has ever told me so, I count my immune system as ridiculously strong - I haven't had flu in 15 years at least, if ever, immunization or no (no shots until the past 4-5 years anyway, nor any infection beyond common cold). And what they're not talking about is whether a strong immune system makes you more likely to die once infected. Again,, the granularity really is't there to identify actual risk groups by anything other than age and chronic illness.

That said...I'm waiting. And if I get it at all, it'll be when wait times are negligable and then only for the projected 18 month cycle. And no, I'm not really worried about mecury poisoning or gulf war syndrome.

Yeah, I've seen some conspiracy theorists frothing at the mouth about Gulf War Syndrome being linked to Squaline, which is an adjuvant used in a number of things, including the Anthrax vacceines which were issued to American troops in Iraq in the early 90s. One of those "one study to prove it did and three to prove it didn't" deals.
