I really don't like that idea, I think if they are going to do a prequel they should just do an Enterprise movie...

Just another rumour; there have been plenty.

 

The current TPTB for the Star Trek TV/movie rights are opposed to all things sci fi, so I have a hard time believing this.

JJ Abrams has confirmed he is producing it. He also explained that he may not direct and that the plot outline is just a rumor as he actually has never revealed it and is keeping tight lipped.

Dude, not enough people liked Enterprise. They would never do a movie. Since that franchise is struggling, I think that Star Trek XI should just be a venture into pornography, thus combining two of my dirty secrets.
