antiviruses usually dont get along

Not only do they not get along most of the time, it's going to slow your system down. Sticking with one AV, is the best possible solution.

That's true.. I'm still a slave to Microsoft, although I have a bit of a Linux background as well. I just don't seem to have the time to try and fully go 100% Linux

Prosis what distro are you running?

Ubuntu, running like a charm too!

I keep an XP Pro Virtual Machine for Web testing (I'm a web developer) so I can test things out in Safari, IE 5.5, 6 and 7...

I chose Ubuntu because I wanted things to just work with little tweaking and that's what I got! ;)

Cool Cool, yeah I remember trying to get the wireless working with my old HP laptop, it was a lot easier then I closed K wallet and my wireless stopped working. I never got a chance to look into it because one of my friends needed a laptop after someone she knew let her laptop slide off the roof of a moving car..

Unlikely. there are very few viruses out there built to attack Mac or Linux operating systems. It'd be like setting up a viral ad campaign in the deep wilderness where nobody but animals, park rangers, and crazy hermits would ever see it.

can this virus go after mac os?

It technically could, if it was coded to attack the Mac OS, but since the population of Mac user's is still a lot less then the windows desktop, people don't even bother with it. Some one forwarded me a link to a report about the new Mac OS and it had a ton of security flaws in it.

I had a couple viruses infect my Java & got rid of them. Might have been from here, but about a month or 2 ago i believe i had a virus get into my java as well.

I get paranoid over viruses, i don't trust virus scanners getting rid of everything. So i'll probably format my harddrive one of these days & start fresh.
