Axis: Bold As Love

My favourite Hendrix album.

 

Just picked up a copy on vinyl, love the sound he had for it.

 

Mitch was such a good drummer.

 

Anyone else a fan? Prefer another album? Favourite songs and such?

No, Axis is my fave also. I really love Castles in the Sand, but the whole record is stellar.

I love everything Hendrix to begin with. This album is definitely the shit, and Castles is actually my third favorite track on it. Little Wing is my all time favorite Hendrix song, and if 6 was 9 is the grooviest stony vibe this side of the mothership.

axis is also my fav hendrix album. bold as love and if 6 was 9 are probably my favorite tracks on it. electric ladyland is my second favorite album, followed by his first. i haven't listened to first rays of the new rising sun that much.

As said though, the whole album is fantastic from start to end.

Yes, it's an awesome album. My dad picked it up on CD on summer vacation when we went to Kelowna and I fell in love with it. Awesome stuff and I'm not really into '60s music.

A former coworker of mine, Jerry, introduced me proper to many bands/musicians before my time. Hendrix was one of them, and Axis: Bold As Love was spun the most. Jerry was great because he had all these crazy stories of growing up in Montreal during the late 70's and 80's; he usually had a drug reference for every album. It's fortunate for one to be exposed to seminal albums by those who've lived with them and truly appreciate their place in history. Thanks Jer!

I really Hendrix as well, and he really helped me find the sound and styles of music I like to listen to most, since a lot of bands are inspired by him.

 

I have heard awesome live versions of Machine Gun, and Voodoo Chile

 

He did one of the best covers of All Along The Watchtower as well.
