Need New Music Recommendations

For some reason chrome is being weird & I can't look at previous pages so SORRY if anyone already mentioned him but this guy has been blowing up my news feed lately, pretty good music even though his "character" is slightly on the parody side.

Father John Misty. I like that he actually gives a heavy vocal performance, too many singers are laid back & too lazy or scared to try & push themselves 110%. He's no Matthew Good of course.  kkk

Anyone remember THRICE? They are on tour again after not doing music for maybe 4 years now. They are also slated to have a new album this year which I am excited for! Anyway, here is the song that got me into them all those years ago. Sound and style have changed since then but I love them.

What's some good Gaslight Anthem & Dan Mangan songs?

I never really dug any of the singles that came out for each of them.

I'm not an expert on Dan, just having gotten into him with his newest album, Club Meds.  I think i posted the video in this thread one song from that, Mouthpiece.  The whole album is pretty great though.

For the Gaslight, I can help with that:

The 59 Sound is probably their best album https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7XJcQVXtuY.  Every song on is it great.  Here are some of my personal favourites:

Thanks for all of the recommendations!  I tend to stick to my favourites for sure:  Matt Good (did I even need to mention that one?), Foo Fighters, The Cranberries, The Verve, Dido, OutKast, Lauryn Hill (who hasn't released much, but remains a fave), Ani Difranco, Noah Gunderson & Sinéad O'Connor, who has a new(ish) album out.  I remember her more for her older stuff:  I have listened to the Lion & The Cobra at least a million times.  Her most recent album is a bit of a mish mash stylistically, not all of which I am enjoying, though the first song off the album grabbed me:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FFYnGVTFGqo

Also, a friend of mine recently mentioned the name Maria Doyle Kennedy to me.  She will be singing at the Blacksheep Inn in Wakefield in a couple of weeks.  I recognise her for her acting abilities:  she was the Irish nanny in the last couple of seasons of Dexter.  More notably for me, she plays "Mrs. S" in Orphan Black (which I have dubbed Orphan Crack due to it's ability to make me stare vacantly at the television screen for hours at a time)  She has a great voice though, tending towards a more folk rock style:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOev8c2eCi0

Here's some stuff I really like that I've been listening to lately. These songs are a bit more on the mellow side; I don't really know what genre they fall into... I just know I like them.

St. South - Marvin's Room (Drake cover) - (soundcloud link) ps. This cover is way better than the original.

There's something pleasant about this song.

If you like this check out their album, it's really good.

Surprisingly, this song has some great sax in the second half.

I went to the Maria Doyle Kennedy concert a couple of weeks ago.  She plays alongside her husband.  It was a small venue, though they sounded like they were on a record, so flawlessly did the performance go.  She is funny and engaging on stage, with lots of interesting stories and fun songs.  She is an Irish institution, apparently.  My Irish friend was in 7th heaven watching her.

The opening act was earthier.  Here name is Jill Zmud. She is quite folksy and real.  I loved her!  She'll be playing at Ottawa Bluesfest if anyone is interested in checking her out.
