I loved AOF for years.  When the video for Pulmonary Archery came out, it blew my mind.  I was hooked right away.  They got worse as the years went on though.  Too bad Leah (wife of Dallas) Yoko'd the band and they broke up.

 

I can't stand Dallas Green on his own.  I enjoyed the solo stuff when he was in the band, but now I detest it.  Maybe his attitude spoils it for me.

 

I just discovered Dan Mangan.  His latest CD is amazing.  Check out this song:

Have any of you ever heard of Justin King? He is one of my favourite musicians of all time, and I don't think he gets the kind of recognition he deserves from the mainstream music scene. The man is a genius with the guitar, and he has a pretty good voice too.

That album is very good, although I don't like Believe.  Too wishy washy for me.  The Wolf and Snake Eyes are both fantastic though.

Funny story about how I found this group, Jon and Roy.  I was driving around last night, and had the radio station set to the channel that I normally use for my FM transmitter.  I didn't have my iPhone on, so it was just picking up random stuff.  At one point, this song came on, and I loved it, so I grabbed my phone and used Shazam to grab it.  Love this group now.

Thanks Marcella.  I appreciate it. I will check them out. I don't listen to Disney soundtracks, but I do love electronic dance music (EDM?). I listen to bpm and electric area all the time on my XM portable radio when I run on the bike paths. They play a variety of music every day. It is much better than regular radio,

I was browsing more of their songs on YouTube. Well, you did it again. You picked another winner. If you don't mind me asking, what are are your top two albums by them? I may have to go out and buy them at HMV or Amazon. I like albums with a nice mix of ballads on them. For example, I can't stop listening to MG's Odette or Bright End of Nowhere. They're on constant repeat.
 
Speaking of which, I love, love, love this animated music video of Odette. Cameron Ohara did a great job.

The above two are the albums I mostly listen to by The Chameleons. I will let you know how Mark Burgess is in concert - going on Wednesday, and then acoustic Matt next week - feeling very spoiled!!!

 

Please do! I looked at his tour dates, and my town isn't on there. All the good bands usually make stops at Vancouver and Toronto. You're lucky you live in Vancouver. I will buy those 2 albums at the end of the month, on my next paycheck. I will look for the sparkling, shimmering guitar sounds. Thanks for taking the time to write all of that, and have fun at Matt's acoustic concert next week.

I've become a huge fan of the National.  Their latest album is one of my favourites.  Other than that, I haven't been listening to a lot of music lately.  I'm in a bit of a rut with music.  I listen to podcasts all day at work now.

If you like mostly instrumental music, Black Sands by Bonobo is really good. All In Forms, Kong and Kiara are my favs. It's kind of electronic music I guess, I don't know, I just know I like it. The other albums by Bonobo I think aren't as good.

Anyone into Angus and Julia Stone? They make some great acoustic folky music, Memories of an Old Friend is an amazing album. Listen to the song Old Friend, it's a great rainy day thinking about life song, I think it starts around 30:50

I enjoyed watching Taylor Swift's new video for some reason. It is probably because it reminds me so much of Matt's All You Sons and Daughters video. It is the pack of wolves in it, especially at 0:43 and 0:53, with the fog effect behind them. Maybe she copied that from Matt's video. haha. Anyways, the scenery in it is beautiful and breathtaking. I give it two thumbs up.

Every song from that album must be a single by now, right? She's a machine. I don't hate her music. I wouldn't buy the album, but I don't change the radio station if something of hers comes on.
