I didn't like it as much as the third movie, but it was still good.

See, that's the thing. The fourth has flaws. The complaints people have are absolutely true and valid. But there was enough good about the movie that it was still good.

People should watch movies to enjoy them, not to pick them apart.

The movie dissapointed me. I took a friend's little brother to the theater with me when I saw it, and he hadn't read any of the books. He had no clue what was going on.

that's been a common complaint, even from my friends who are psycho-fanatical HP fans.

i, too, had no idea what was going on. i've seen the first three movies, have never read any of the books, and my psycho-fanatical HP fan friends wouldn't SHUT UP for the whole thing.

Gonna admit it. I like Harry Potter.

Got into it backwards though. Saw the first and second movies, then read the first three books, then saw the third. The fourth was the only one I missed seeing in theatres, sadly, and still haven't watched it.

Then again, I still haven't watched Mirrormask either. Sigh. I fail the movies.

i read the books before seeing the movies. the first movie, by far, was truest to source material. but i love all the books and i love the movies for what they are: fun, magical fantasy pieces. they're beautiful to see, amusing to watch, and if you can forget the stuff they leave out (which must be done for time, obviously) they maintain the essential spirit of the books.

Neil Gaiman fan?!

Mightily so.

My love affair began with Good Omens, moved on to Neverwhere, then Smoke & Mirrors. By then, I was in love.

American Gods followed, and I'm salivating to crack into Anansi Boys.

And I've not even said a thing about his wondrous graphic novel stuff.
