  5. Last year i mentioned some footage i was hoping to obtain that would contain some pretty rare video of the Matthew Good Band. Well after many months of waiting i was finally able to get that material, transfer it and with Chad's help we have got it uploaded and it will be shared through his site tomorrow. Unfortunately the amount of material was less than originally thought thanks to tapes being lent and never returned however the material that was still there although brief is still pretty incredible and goes right back to the start of the Matthew Good Band. For most here theyve probably never seen any of this. And those that have its probably been well over twenty years since they did. Im Very excited to have been able to find this stuff and get it transfered and very grateful for Chad offering his web site to host this material so that Matt Good fans can see it. I recently asked Matt if he would consider a chronological live album or footage release and while i wont go into specifics of his reasoning here, he was pretty emphatic that he would not. So for the time being these kinds of attic discoveries are our only way to find material such as this. So if you know anyone who might have taped shows on MUCH or videoed concerts they went to, reach out and ask if they happened to record any Matthew Good. You never know what might be turned up. Finally these tapes are being released as a tribute to MGB bass player Geoff Lloyd. Most of this material stems from Geoffs time in the band and is some of the only live footage we have from Geoffs era. It really showcases what he brought to the group and his contributions to some incredible music. Im very proud to be a part of the group putting this stuff out there because hopefully it will help people to remember Geoff and the band during his tenure.
  6. I really do love this guy. Such an under appreciated artist.

  10. Any chance this user is still kicking around on the board here, but just as a different user? I know their profile says they last visited back in 2005 so I know it's a long shot, but I'm looking to try and find rare MGB stuff that hasn't found its way onto Youtube yet so I can get it up there.
  11. It seems to be that the ending of that episode was very anticlimactic and made much of the character buildup relating to John Snow and Danny, pointless. I makes so sense to me to have all of the character building (ice & fire) over the past 8 years for it to end that way. Arya was about revenge for her family against the conspiracy started by Littlefinger, her story did not involve the Night King. Thats how I see it.
  12. This is...really epic, exciting, and organic sounding https://www.instagram.com/p/Bw8p_t-g_v2/ Hopefully it leads somewhere big. Though Something Like a Storm sounded like it was going somewhere massive too and then just faded out, so hopefully this one is a little different in that sense. I doubt Matt would share the climax of a song before it was finished.
  13. Agreed, seems like the material was already written. Not even sure how much James Iha really even played on it, nothing real distinctive that screams him. Hopefully the followup material will be more collaborative. Lots of touring together happened since this last one was made.
  14. What did you think? SPOILERS AHEAD For my part, I'll admit I was on the edge of my seat the entire time and that I was cheering when Arya was able to drop the Night King. Likewise, I thought they handled the 4 deaths quite well, especially Theon's. To see him not make the wrong choice this time when his back was against the wall was a good finale for him and it even seemed like the NK gave him some low key respect when he bothered to look down at him on the ground. However, in retrospect, there were things I wasn't a fan of either: -The lighting for episode was terrible (though admittedly perhaps on purpose to try and give the audience an idea of what it was like for those there). -It felt like, given the number of wrights, more main characters should have died. Don't get me wrong, four long time characters going out (two of them being main characters), isn't nothing, but it just felt unrealistic for so many other main characters to come out of that alive given the numbers they were swarmed by (much like in episode 6 of last season). -As tension filled as it was, it feels like the death of the Night King was almost....too soon. While we know "what" he was trying to do (at least according to Bran/The 3 Eyed Raven), we still don't know "why" he was doing it. What motivated him? Perhaps we'll still find out in these last few episodes, but it's possible we won't. Lastly- and this is just a random thought- there is something very off about Bran. It feels like there is more going on with him than we know and while that may seem obvious to some, I feel like there is more going on with him in a bad way. I can't explain it but after the end of this episode...I feel like there is going to be a reveal that Bran/the 3 Eyed Raven is not what we all thought.
  15. Interesting, I really like Double Life, but Song For a Girl is song for the trashcan, I hate that song! Not just because I'm a dude, it's just a bad song.
  16. When I read the books, her chapters were my faviourite. I was always hoping the next chapter would be her!
  17. I've got "and I've a grenade with our names scratched on the side, but that's just love" on my forearm (from The Rat Who Would Be King)

    Death

My sister-in-law Jessica Allossery (who is a musician) put together a tribute video for my son, featuring her new single "Happy Place" at the 10:38 mark.
  19. I'm so sorry to read that Mike, but very happy to read Jesus was his personal Saviour and your faith is very uplifting and encouraging. Beautiful words and I would like to pray for your family. Death is so sad for loved ones but can be a beautiful thing when you have repented and trusted Christ alone to save you from your sins.
  20. Arya Stark for the win. I LOVE her 'faceless man' arch.
  21. added Aug 3 in St. John, Newbrunswick for Area 506 Fest
  22. At the Milton VIP they were working out the pedal effect so he could play it on the 6 string as we were walking in. He mentioned at the show that night that he was happy with the sound and could burn the 12 string. I may have volunteered my yard.
  23. WOWOWOWOW! Amazing . Thank you so much!!
  24. I figure these will start to pop up similar to the Solo Acoustic shows tour dates as Festivals get announced/reveal their lineups. So far: June 21 - Beaumont Blues & Roots Festival Beaumont, Alberta [Info | Tickets | Facebook] July 14 - Roxodus Music Fest Edenvale Airport, Clearview, Ontario [Info | Tickets | Facebook] August 3 - Area 506 Festival St. John, New Brunswick [Info | Tickets | Facebook] August 4 - Gables In The Bend Grand Bend, Ontario [Tickets/Info | Facebook]
  25. Yeah I usually try figuring them out on my own because of this. These new versions are all basic chords (whereas before there were a lot open chords). All these have the guitar tuned half a step down Rabbits, capo on third. C : 032010 C (variation he uses sometimes) : 332010 D : 000232 (or 000230) F : 033010 G : 320033 Am : 002210 C/D (I don't know the real name of this chord) : 020010 G/E (I don't know the real name of this chord) : 200033 The first part is C, C/D, G, C, C/D, Am. Then it's F, C, G, C, C/D, Am. Chorus: Em, G, Cadd9, G, G/E, Em Alert Status Red is the same as the record. Men at the Door, capo on second fret (he used to have it on third during the Something Like a Storm tour). Verse: D, Am, C, Em, D Chorus : Am, Em, C Fearless, no capo Verse: Am, G, Em, D Pre-chorus: Em, G, D Chorus : C, Em, G, D Fine Art, capo on 3rd Verse: G, Em, Am, C "Chorus" (The "We're surfacing" and "I'm certain of it" parts) : Em, G, C Hello Time Bomb, no capo Verse: Em, G, Am, C Chorus: Am, C, G, D "Hello Time Bomb, I'm ready to go off" part: Am, C, G, D
  26. Does anyone have a decent place to find tabs/chords for MG? The only ones I can find out there are super old. I'm specifically looking for some of the songs he played on the acoustic tour. For example... The Fine Art of Falling Apart - He played with a capo in standard tuning... very different than the recorded version. Fearless - Obviously very different than the album Hello Time Bomb - In Edmonton he mentioned how he just started playing random chords in an encore early in the tour and sang the melody of Hello Time Bomb. Eventually he landed on something that was really good. Totally different than the album and totally awesome. Did anyone catch those chords? Selling you my heart - New awesome song Symbolistic White Walls - The latest version was similar to previous live versions he's played but totally different than the album. Rabbits Men at the Door Alert Status Red Any newer tabs/chords would be awesome. That site MGTabArchive is great but just stopped after In a Coma. If you are out there, please bring that site back to life!! Thanks!!
