New Evanescence Video...

Does the new Evanescence video (Somebody's Fool..? I think) remind anyone else of the video for "Everything is Automatic", only with much worse musical accompaniment?

Not really. Maybe the basic idea is the same, but it's been done in a very different way, if you ask me.

 

I did notice some things that seem to be very popular in music videos lately:

 

smashing mirror - also seen in Avril Lavigne's Don't Tell Me.

bleeding wrists - also seen in Britney's Everytime.

singing in the bathtub - also seen in Dido's Life for Rent and Sarah McLachlan's Fallen.

Hrm... maybe I need to watch the whole thing. I just saw the part with fake product commercial simulation, with contradictory images and messages (Happy smiling lead singer/"Lies!").

 

I changed the channel shortly after, because I really fucking hate that band.

i guess it's just video cliches. having dark themes in 'rock' videos is sort of a standing concept. kind of lame.

i really didnt like the video but i kinda got everything is automatic video from it though... i like everythying automatic! yeah, i see where you are getting it from..
