i tried to love it, chuck. i tried to like it. i almost had myself convinced. it's not terrible, compared to stuff by other people. compared to his entire back catalogue (sans remix albums), it's pretty fucking weak. non-entity, the newest thing i heard from him before this came out, is better than the whole new album.

I had to listen to it a number of times to appreciate it, but now it's passible. It's not bad, it's just not his best.

do you still listen to it? i can't understand why people would subject themselves to music that they describe as merely "passable."

agreed. if it's just 'passable', why not throw on the downward spiral, or one of his other 'more than passable' albums when you wanna hear nin?

Last night I went out with my roommate and a girl who works with her, which was smokin' hot and a big NIN fan. This has nothing to do with this thread but oh well.

yes I do listen to it. By passible, I mean that it's got enough good tracks on it to make it worth listening to from time to time.

And Shiri, I'm always up to hear about hot chicks with good taste in music.

Well, Year Zero is not one of the worst albums... there are some good songs in there... at least, some that I like and listen to from time to time...

That's what I'm saying...The best discs in the world are the one's that you can listen to beginning to end everytime you put them in play. While Year Zero isn't one of those discs, it still has a number of good tracks on it that are worth listening to.

That's what I'm saying...

Example: Downward Spiral...I can listen to beginning to end every time I put it in.

Example: Year Zero, I skip songs.

So NIN is no longer with a major record label. Trent left a note on NIN.com today

Trent would probably be more prolific on his own,any way.

totally looking forward to the remix album!!!

that was a joke. i don't think he should be wasting his fucking time. no one wants to hear a nine minute dance/dub version of "capitol g."
