I also loved Billy Corgan's solo album.

 

Broken Social Scene may take the cake for me. The Most Serence Republic's Underwater Cinematographer was cool.

 

What else came out this year? I buy and steal a lot of old music.

Honourable mentions... Xiu Xiu La Foret, Avenged Sevenfold City of Evil, Bright Eyes Digital Ash in a Digital Urn, Armor for Sleep What to do When You're Dead, 30 Seconds to Mars A Beautiful Lie, but these are all albums i listened to non-stop for a fortnight, and haven't touched since. I think that this has been the weakest year for music that i have lived through. Pop is getting better, in my opinion, as is a lot of music, but haven't really heard anyhting mindblowing in a while.
