I believe a piece of your soul is eaten away.

I have no idea what AAC really is. It's some sort of music encoding developed by Apple that works exclusively in iTunes. I think it's that format that Apple was touting as being very hi-fi while not using up as much disk space as other hi-fi file formats.

Also, it will work on iPods, unlike other hi-fi formats.

Oddly enough, I found UnRarX minutes after making this thread, but didn't mention it, because I thought some of you would enjoy feeling useful and helpful. Well, now you have another chance. Sometimes I leave certain applications on running for a long time, this is deliberate, so I have disabled the computer's setting that makes it go to sleep after a certain time period, opting instead to have the computer automatically shut it itself off at a certain time using the "Schedule" setting. However, often times, when I return to the comp after having left it alone for hours, but not having it reach the time it's supposed to shut off (not even close) I'll find the applications I deliberately left running have been closed for some reason. For for instance, I leave the computer and the applications running at like 4pm, and the computer is scheduled to shut off at 2am, why is it, when I check back at 6pm, the application I left running is closed? And what do I do to stop it?

What application? (Based on needing UnRar, and leaving running for long periods, can I guess Bittorent ;)). Are there any messages on the screen (Application Unexpectedly exited)?

If there aren't any messages on the screen you might need to check the console (Application->Utilities->Console) That might tell you what is happening.

I don't know of any reason an application would be shut down by the OS, except for in a crash. Which may mean that the application has some configuration that causes it to exit on it's own.
