Moral Test

Recommended Posts

we could have some conversation from this one

You are driving down the road in your car on a wild, stormy night when

you pass by a bus stop and you see three people waiting for the bus:

1.. An old lady who looks as if she is about to die.

2. An old friend who once saved your life.

3. The perfect partner you have been dreaming about.

Which one would you choose to offer a ride to, knowing that there could

only be one passenger in your car? Think before you continue reading.

This is a moral/ethical dilemma that was once actually used as part of

a job application. You could pick up the old lady, because she is going

to die, and thus you should save her first. Or you could take the old

friend because he once saved your life, and this would be the perfect

chance to pay him back. However, you may never be able to find your

perfect mate again. What do you do?

;)

The dying old woman - providing you can actually tell, and she's not just looking a bit gaunt.

It's not in anyway a difficult decision for me - you're not repaying your mate who saved your life by giving them a lift home whatsoever, and even if you were selfish enough to put a chance for your dream girl's affections before an old woman's life, there's absolutely no guarantees a lift home would get you anywhere with her, and even that's completely ignoring the fact that both your heroic mate and dream girl would most likely think you an utter cunt for your indifference to the dying old woman

Have the old friend drive the dying broad to the hospital, then mack on the girl in the rain, clearly. Best of both worlds? Your friend gets a bit stiffed: having to bail you out twice, but I'm sure after saving your friggin life it won't be too tough to get in a car instead of waiting for the bus, even if he does have to save someone else.

I don't drive.

but, ok, the girl is out because how do I know she's the girl of my dreams if I've never met her, and the old lady is out because I a) don't know her, and b) looking like you're about to die while waiting for a bus in a storm doesn't mean shit. I've waited out many a storm at bus stops in my day. So yeah, my friend gets the ride (and for some reason I can only fit one person in the car) regardless of whether he's saved my life or not prior.

This is dumb.
