Favourite Matt Good Moment

Recommended Posts

When i saw MG at the SUB in fredericton. Best show ever, hands down.

That, and on Oct 30, 2001 when i jigged school to pick up AoB, went home and sat on the floor and listened to it over and over again. Grade nine was fun.

Everything except the last sentence was true.

my favorite moment was at the last show i went to and i was so close when he did a little twirl...

I'm jealous of the fact that you saw Matt do a "little twirl" on stage. It would have amused me. Alas, I've never been witness to such an event.

The only thing better would have been to see him do his little twirl, followed by a pliet (I have no idea how to spell that), after prancing across the stage, leaping intermittently.

k, I'm done now.

My favorite Matt Good related moments/events/what-have-you's are as follows:

1)Noticing "Daddy Likes It Dirty" on the speakers at my first MG show back in '99.

2)The first time I heard FlashdanceII -> "I take my clothes off, whenever it suits me" -> Best...mental...image...ever.

3)The day I decided to refer to Born to Kill as my "musical orgasm".

4)Fooling around with my boyfriend at a Matt show in 2003.

5)Hearing Avalanche live at said 2003 show.

Hmm... I see a trend, haha.

The first time I heard "It's Been a While Since I was Your Man" live in concert back August 2003. It must've been love. ;)

I would have said the time when I met Matthew Good, but I only talked with him for a minute - it's hard to have a really meaningful conversation in such a short time. It would be so interesting to discuss issues with that guy.

That's odd. And only because I think the very same thing. The way the song builds and builds and builds then explodes!....into a noisy silence. Ah yes.

if he did kick me that would have been awsome

Not a lot of people can say Matt Good kicked them in the face. And yes, that really would be cool.

i must not be a real fan, cuz i cant see how it would be really cool to get kicked in the face by matt good ;)

i spent the day at the warehouse studio when he recorded "anti-pop" and a few other songs for AoB. and some kids were there singing the chorus... rich, ian, dave, matt, jennifer, warne and his son and i got some chinese food delivered, we threw stuff out the window of the recording studio onto water st. later i asked him if i could take his M3 Coupe for a drive, and he told me i'd have to beat rich at a game of hockey on playstation 2 or whatever. long story short, rich kicked my ass like 12-4 and all i got was the anti-pop chorus written out by matt on a huge posterboard, with a mistake in the lyrics on the other side that said "see, this is what centennial english department taught me" and his autograph. later, ian offered to sell me some acid.

also, i stood by as ian smuggled a bunch of porno magazines out of the studio, and matt taped this message to brian adams on the recording room floor:

"HEY BRIAN, WE STOLE YOUR FUCKING PORNO"

right before i left, we all yelled as hard as we could "LEN SUCKS" as that shitty one-hit-wonder-summer-band was waiting on the top floor for their studio time.

that was a cool day.

When he came and did a show here (Sydney, N.s.) last year, he brought out these little gnomes that are always on display every Chirstmas in our mall but usually get stored @ the Savoy (where he played)... then they plugged them in (their arms move up and down) and put the Corona box on it's hand. That was some funny shit. I then yelled out "Burn the gnome!" and he said "Oh, we don't do that kind of thing anymore." lol! He'll most likely never come back here cuz it's way too small ;)
