hmm how 'bout:

Creedence Clearwater Revivial (greatest hits)

Bob Dylan (greatest hits)

Neil Young (any song he's done live! Try the live album "Rust Never Sleeps")

Bruce Springsteen (greatest hits)

The Killers (their whole latest album kicks ass)

Led Zeppelin (anything! I love "Achilles Last Stand" song)

Metallica's live album "Live Shit: Binge & Purge" (circa 1992)

hahahaha good call.

yeah i really can't see how having 5,000 songs at your disposal is that useful.

Having your entire music collection in the palm of your hand? Sounds good to me. Plus, for the price there's really nothing that can even compare. I bought my 20 GB i-pod refurbished for the same price as a 4 GB mini.

As for music for your ipod, what Moonlight_Graham said. ;)

but it's not like you could even listen to it all. also, it's a fad. also, they're ugly. bono says i should have one but you know what i say??? "make bono history"

For me the ipod isn't just about music though. I work at a hotel (in sales) which is a 45 minute bus ride from my home. The ipod is awesome for me:

As a music lover it's great because it's compact (fits in my inside jacket pocket), holds a lot of music, and doesn't skip simply becuse it's an mp3 player.

It also has a calendar so I can schedule all of my appointments with clients that I work with (I book conference rooms).

It stores any necessary contact information (both personal and business).

It also features a world clock so I know exactly what time it is if I'm dealing with clients overseas or on the other side of Canada.

I have an alarm sound programmed to play to wake me before my stop when I have to come in to work very early (Being to work at 7am means getting up at 4:30 for me); I can catch an extra 30 minutes of sleep on the bus.

I can also save all of my contracts and important documents that I'm working on if it will take me 20 minutes to finish them and the bus leaves in 15. That way I don't wait an hour to get the next bus but I finish all of my days work by finishing off little extras for 30 minutes or so at home.

I live in LA which means two things: traffic and shit stolen from my car (last year, someone stole my radio antenna from my car - ergo no radio). I've had over 100 CD's stolen from my (locked) car. The first 25 were actual bought CD'sin a case, but after that I made copies to keep in my car. But with Thel (my iPod), I can plug him in and have all my music choices, and when I leave my car, I just pocket Thel.

Sunny Day Real Estate

The Shins

Modest Mouse

They all sound the same.

I don't think Modest Mouse and SDRE sound very much alike. Both good though.

Indeed. Depends on what albums you listen to.

Compare The Lonesome Crowded West against The Rising Tide

or

Good News For People Who Love Bad News against Diary.

Nadda.

you named your ipod? There's a show of devotion. But then again, I've seen articles about people who clothe their ipods and basically treat them like children, so you're not that bad yet.
