Dani California is the only RHCP song that I've ever actually liked. Which makes me a touch sad, because the song is very "pop-friendly."

I've not heard the new album in its entirety but I don't doubt it. But then I don't dig the really early stuff, too much of that awful 80's feel to it.

I've not heard the new album in its entirety but I don't doubt it. But then I don't dig the really early stuff, too much of that awful 80's feel to it.

I honestly enjoy every song a lot. Which is saying alot since it has 28 songs.

I'm not a huge fan of the 1st Jupiter Disc, but I really enjoy the 2nd Mars disc.

Really? I like the first disk better...

 

Why? Because I love how it flows with She's Only 18 up to Especially in Michigan. I like all the songs off the first disk where as the second I like MOST, but not all.

I finally picked up the album yesterday and it is terrific! The funny thing is that I only heard Disc #1 and can't wait until the second (due to time constaints--I didn't intentionally turn off this incredible record).

 

From disc one alone, The Chilis are for sure stronger than ever melodically and Frusciante has NEVER sounded this good before. I've found so many mixed reviews of the album it's ridiculous. Maturity is a key aspect in music and I would be pissed off if they returned to their juvenile funk roots a la BSSM (yes, I find that album vastly overrated).

 

This is their best release (surpasses 'One Hot Minute' for me already) and I won't be surprised if this is the album of the year.

 

Can't wait for disc 2, haha.

Mars and Jupiter, in my mind, couldn't be closer in incredibleness.

 

I'd say that Jupiter is better, but Mars is excellent. Death Of A Martian is a brilliant closer.
