look. the woman was famous, she was rich, she was forever making headlines, and she was pretty fucking young to just die unexpectedly. OF COURSE the media is going to cover it. the media has ALWAYS covered celebrity news and they always will. if you don't want to see it, it's pretty fucking easy to turn it off. while you're all sitting here bitching about what the media chooses to cover or NOT cover, YOU could be out doing something that matters for the world, since you're all so positive that anna nicole didn't.

 

and sodamntired, you need to look up the word insult because you clearly don't understand what it means. not that i'm surprised, since you ARE kind of a moron.

Okay, after given it some thought...and the fact that there is no escaping this story. I learned a few things. Let's face she wasn't a bad person, she was famous, and she died way to young. She experienced great tragedy, and great joy, not unlike the rest of us. What I learned, was that she did make a large number of appearances for charity. She spent time visiting military bases, and she was a big supporter of PETA. So on a lot of levels she did contribute to the greater good. I happen to know quite a few guys who were tremendous fans, and a few women too...

 

I do believe there are bigger stories in the world right now, the tragedy in Darfur, chief among them. I think the story of her death is important. I take issue with the the more tabloid related stories...her daughter's father, etc...those things should go behind closed doors...and should be none of our business...the child deserves better than this.

Truth is, most celebrities nowadays didn't really do much except for being famous. But apprently people care about that shit and that's why the media keeps covering it.

The anti-fur campaigns, were I thought quite good...I'm not a PETA member, never will be, but the fact that she tried to do something charitable, should be considered redeeming.

look, Anna Nicole Smith was a mess. as Jon Stewart put it, people find it hard to believe that someone on a gradual downward spirial... spirialed downward.

The media is blowing this WAY out of proportion! one Newsperson described Anna Nicole as "our Princess Di" thats like comparing caviar to a jar of baby food. CNN went 90 minutes without a commercial break dedicating the entire time to Anna Nicole coverage. That is almost as long as they went on 9/11 without a commercial break.

To this day, I still mock Kurt Cobain. Sure, he is dead, but it's because of himself that he is dead, the same thing can be said about anna nicole. Eddie Guererro or Princess Di, those were more tragic BECAUSE:

a) Di died in a car accident apparently caused by paparazzi

b) Eddie, though he had done druns for years that lead to his death, I sympathize for him because of the fact that he worked very hard and eventually did get clean. he was getting his life together and then just died suddenly.
