Is this for a mix cd or what? Here are some suggestions:

Halloween by Siouxie and the Banshees

Halloween by Sonic Youth (and the entire Bad Moon Rising album)

Halloween on the Barbary Coast by the Flaming Lips

Beck has Satan Gave Me a Taco and Devil's Haircut...even Scarecrow loosely fits the theme.

Ooh! Don't Fear the Reaper by Blue Oyster Cult!

Gubbbish by Chad VanGaalen has some good lyrics.

Chrissy Kiss the Corpse by Of Montreal

The Pixies or Radiohead or Smashing Pumpkins could also help. The Rocky Horror soundtrack is good.

TV on the Radio's Wolf Like Me is kind of about werewolves.

Sufjan Stevens has that song about zombies from the Illinois album.

You'll have to stick to old goth tunes, mostly. Horror punk is a good genre.

That's all I got. Oh, and Number of the Beast by Iron Maiden.

Black Sabbath - War Pigs, Iron Man

Iron Madien - Run To The Hills

not really halloweeny. if i were to put some sabbath on, i'd pick "black sabbath" because it's at least somewhat creepy.

does anyone know of some super cheesy halloween songs? i heard mc hammer had a halloween song.

no rocky horror picture show theme suggestions, please.

yeah, it's for a mix cd. i'm trying to make it a little unconventional, hence no rocky horror picture show. i didn't think of beck. good call.

thanks for the load of suggestions. i was definitely thinking siouxsie, but more along the lines of "night shift " or "spellbound." i think i'll have the most luck if i kinda explore what goth rock has to offer. i kinda know my way around, with bands like siouxsie, bauhaus, love and rockets, the birthday party, etc. but not too sure about bands like the cure or the damned... so i'm not too sure what they might be able to offer.
