It's irritating and incoherent, a pain to have to listen to.

at least they arnt parading around as a Duran Duran cover band.

Duran Duran wasnt good in the 80's, and its not good now.

...maybe, but then again FF is more like an imitation of Kraftwerk, which incidentally, sucked even worse than Duran Duran.

i guess you have never heard any Kraftwerk albums then.

because i see no similarity.

This is my list though i found the year slightly disappointing as a whole:

1. Matt Good - WLR&RR

2. Limblifter - I/O

3. Elliot Smith - From a Basement on a Hill

Numbers 4 through 7 in no order are: Franz Ferdinand, Wil - Both Hands, Xavier Rudd - Solace, and the disappointing Incubus - A Crow Left of the Murder (which speaks of the years quality)

The ones that would almost undoubtedly be high in my top ten had I not been so unforgivingly bad for not moving my ass to hear them yet would be Interpol - Antics, Wilco - A Ghost is Born and Modest Mouse

No, I've heard Kraftwerk, it sounds like Nintendo GameBoy music. I was referring to image more than anything else though.

i didnt know robots played in place of Kraftwerk.

if they are ripping of anyone style wise it would be Gang of Four.

The only album I've bought this year was WLRRR.

Though I've got a 50 dollar gift certificate to HMV, I'm thinking of picking up Limblifter, and after reading though the thread, I'm inclined to get Wilco "A Ghost is Born" and Interpol's "Antics".

yeah I like it. The album is nothing compared to anything else maynard has been involved with in tool or apc. However 2004 was a pretty slow year as far as new releases go for me, or at least a disappointing one.
