Well, while looking over the internet I found out that Weezer has released a new single. Seeing as how I never ever listen to the radio by choice, I figured I'd download the track.

 

It's called "Beverly Hills" and I hate it. This makes me sad, because I like all of Weezer's music, from The Blue ALbum to Pinkerton, to The Green Album and even Maladroit.

 

But I hate this new song. And this makes me a sad panda. Anyways, to make this a valid thread, what's your thoughts on the new single?

The new single is fucking awful. The Green Album & Maladroit were shitty albums, but at least they each had a couple interesting singles & a few solid album tracks.

 

Apparently, 'Beverly Hills' does not reflect the rest of the material on the new record, but my expectations have been drastically lowered. Had they released something mediocre, yet slightly charming, like 'Hashpipe,' there wouldn't be as much reason to worry.

I will only ever praise the first two albums. Everything after that went downhill, with few exceptions.

Not a big fan of Weezer, but I've liked a few of their tracks. This isn't one of them.

I can't say that i don't like it.

 

I am a huge Weezer fan, and this is one of their weaker songs, but it's still way better than anything i see lately, *coughushercough*

I've heard some rumors that The Foo Fighters and Weezer might be putting on a tour of North America. Of course this is to happen before or after the foos release their next record.

beverly hills sucks, i couldn't even listen to it all the way through. i hope the rest of the album doesn't sound like that.

yeah, just heard beverly hills. It was rather dissapointing. I like weezer enough that I'll still buy the alblum and listen to it a lot though.

 

A tour with the foo fighters would be amazing, I hope they hit Canada. I hate looking at tour dates and seeing the only 2 places in Canada a band is playing is Toronto and Vancover. Calgary, that where they SHOULD go.

I am a huge weezer fan, but this album is their last chance with me. If it tanks, I have to completely give up on them ever being good again. That said, I fear the worst after hearing 'Beverly Hills'. I have heard good things about the rest of the album, though, and really, anything will be a step up from Maladroit. I hope.

Lyrically this is supposed to be the most in depth effort of theirs since Pinkerton. However, it really would help if the music was also at that level, which "Beverly Hills" definitely isn't.

i don't know. if it's done well, i don't care how long the album is.

 

"revolver" is only 34 minutes long and it's one of the best albums i've ever heard. i'd prefer half an hour of perfection to 74 minutes of some good songs and filler.
