am i the only one that thinks that the end of this song is overly derivative of U2? i hope he decides to ditch the guitar riff at the end and finds an aesthetic that hasn't been beaten to death like that has

Not that it matters, but I do this on the songs I write, too. Usually helps me work out harmonies and whatnot (and whether or not a bassline will blend properly). I'm sure you could transcribe my ramblings into lyrics, but it wouldn't be anything that I intended to write. (From the anecdotal comments of others, I suspect it's pretty common amongst songwriters.)

Free-flow songs are a lot of fun. And sometimes you actually get something worthwhile you end up keeping. Anyway, I listened to this song several times and I think it has potential.

This song is slammin'!! Seriously, its the shit, and I'm not the kind of person who likes everything Matt puts out. How come some of Matt's best stuff in the last year or 2 have been demos? (If I Was A Tidal Wave, Agoraphobe, Black Helicopter "demo version" etc.)

 

Matt never ceases to suprise me. I like the mumbly monotone vocal style.

 

If this song was on 'Hospital Music' it would easily rank in the top 5 of songs. Thanks uglyredhonda and Crusader!
