I'm American -- live in Chicago, raised in Detroit. In Detroit, we get Canadian radio, tv, etc., so we get a clue re cool Canadian artists. I'll never forget the charge I got one day driving around and hearing the then new song by 54-40, "Don't She-la". I drove right across the border to buy their then new great CD, Dear Dear. I know I'm dating myself, but what the hey?

Anyway, yes Matt and particularly his management sincerely wants to get hooked up with an American indie label to put out the new record and hopefully tour for it. You are right, he is not well known here at all. Will probably do well in border states like New York, Michigan and the upper west coast, but beyond that he has no exposure here at all. Would be very interesting indeed.

I'm sure that in any case Matt would be banned in American radio stations and TV shows by Bush administration and his "fanatics"... just remember what happened to that hip hop Texan band which was banned in radio stations just because the sang songs against Bush...

 

it happened the same in Spain with the previous conservative party - that supported Irak's invasion and Bush in his illegal war - with a flamenco-hip hop band who got pretty famous with a song called "No a la guerra" (No to war) and the government banned them to play in the national Spanish television (under their control, of course)...

 

fortunately now we have a socialist party in the government and that's not gonna ever happen again... I'm sure Matt would've been banned on TV or pro-government radio stations when the convervative party was ruling my country

Yeah, matt is dangerous with his words to american army and stuff. at the concert in saskatoon he did some satire on a pc game buit by the american army, its the official american army game and stuff... george is teaching the kids to fight.

Thats it! Let's start a war! We'll begin by invading sweden, spread out to the east and west, work are way south and bomb every god darn fuzzy creature in our path. This way we are sure to find the culprit who dares open old threads. That'll learn him.

If he's going to contribute then fine. But posting "I agree with this" on 15 old Matt Good threads and 15 or 20 threads in Television section is just stupid.

 

Take a look for yourself and if you still can't tell the difference, then go ahead and keep up with the sarcasm. And yes, this goons made a few real posts, but not enough. I think he's just trying to be a dick.

I never understood why 89x never played mg but they would play ridiculously shitty other Canadian Bands...also Matt doesn't tour Windsor as often as other cities so that probably has a lot to do with the lack of airplay.
